Wine Club SIG

Group Leader: Monica Zorawski

“Nothing contributes more significantly to your wine experience than tasting. It's kind of like learning to play an instrument; it's helpful to know how to read music, but ultimately, there's no substitute for practice.”

This SIG is for those who love to drink wine, want to expand their palates, and learn a little about vino in the process. Whether you’re just starting with wine, or are a seasoned veteran, you’ll have a say in what we try in our meetings and what you would like to learn. Overall, this is guaranteed to be a fun group to join and an excuse to try a lot of different wines while not spending a lot of money!

Active Alumnae SIG

Group Leader: Christine Barr

Get Active, have fun and experience new ways to keep healthy and fit. This SIG will feature events such as yoga, hiking, snow shoeing, laser-tag, beginner dance classes, indoor rock climbing and many more activities. All fitness levels and abilities encouraged to attend!

Book Club SIG

Group Leader: Emily Howard

The Vancouver Delta Gamma Alumnae Chapter is excited to announce the commencement and first installment of its new Book Club. The DG book club will be a low key, relaxed group for those of us who just love to read! Titles will be announced well in advance and will be suitable for our busy lifestyles, so don't panic, Crime and Punishment will not make the cut. We will choose three to four titles a year, with ample time alloted to finish each selection, followed by an informal get together where we can have some snacks and share our thoughts and ideas about each book. This is not meant for literary buffs, just anyone who enjoys a good book and discussion!

The first book we have chosen is The Imperfectionists, by Tom Rachman, a BC-born author. With Rome as a backdrop, this novel explores the often flawed lives of the staff at a struggling English-language newspaper. The numerous vignettes are intertwined with a story detailing the newspaper's historical founding. Learn more at http://tomrachman.com/.

A complex and intriguing read, this book has garnered numerous accolades and will surely bring up lots for discussion!

DG Mommy-and-Me SIG

Got a little one at home? DG Alumnae is putting together a Mommy & Me group and we'd love your input! Event ideas include playdates, stroller strides, coffee dates and even time for mommies to get together away from the little ones (even if we do just spend the whole time talking about them).
